Work is getting interesting. I'm now responsible for real stuff which makes going to work engaging and sometimes stressful, but not too much so. I hope that I can finish this project with some level of success so that when, in the distant future, it comes time to give raises, I get another good raise.

This weekend was exciting. Ashley had her piano recital at school where she performed Lovesong by Sara Bareilles. Ashley was awesome. She also performed a classical piece with equal faculty. Lisa and Tracy came to watch Ashley also and they brought some well received cupcakes and brownies. Also at that performance there was a guitarist with exceptional skill and expressiveness. The band played Power of Love by Jimi Hendrix. I think the guitarist's name was James Rapp.

Later that day Ashley and I did some yard work at my house. We weeded the garden of its violet infestation. We also had some hilarious fun trimming my dogwood tree of its dead branches using my fiberglass ladder and brand new LOPPERS.

On Sunday I bought a new memory card using my Ritz Camera gift card. Apparently, you cannot use Ritz Camera gift cards at RitzCamera.com. Ritz Camera and RitzCamera.com are two separate companies according to the customer service rep I chatted with. Anyway, I bought an 8 GB SanDisk Ultra II compact flash card. I was shocked that the store didn't have any 16 GB cards. I can see why Ritz Camera isn't doing well: Their prices are too high and their inventory is old. 16 GB cards are easy to find online at Newegg.com or BHphotovideo.com.

On Sunday Evening, Ashley and I went to see an Indian Classical Music performance at the Cole Auditorium of the Greenwich Library in Greenwich, CT. Greenwich is a good place to visit if you want to see Ferraris. Anyhow, the performance was awesome. The first half was a Korean Komungo, Indian Tabla drums, and a Japanese Koto all playing together. It was pretty unique. The woman who played the Kumunga used phaser and repeater pedals! The second half of the performance was three Indian instruments: Tabla, Sitar, and Tambura. The sitar player was world famous. His name is Soumitra Lahiri. I bought his CD. The tabla player was named Samir Chatterjee. His fingers moved so fast you could never see them. I forget the name of the Tamboura player. He was American and he hailed from Greenwich.

Ashley went up to the tabla player after the performance to ask him which Raga and Tala they played. He gave her a lot more information than she could write down, but he was very nice. Ashley will have a lot to write about in her thesis paper for her class. She'll be graduating college in a few weeks!
