I'm going to be a home owner soon. I just found a place on a quiet street in Manchester for $180,000. It's a Cape Cod style house with 3 bedrooms, 2 luxurious bathrooms, a 1 car detached garage, and lots of character. It feels just right for me. I still have to figure out how I'm going to move my stuff there, but that won't be too hard. I probably have a friend with a friend with a truck or two. Who wants beer and pizza (and to help me move my very few personal belongings). Also, i have to pay a settlement with my apartment complex since my lease runs until September 15th. I pay all the rent due between when I vacate and when my lease expires but I get back the rent for the time that they have it filled with another tenant. They would have to really despise me to not fill it within 2 weeks considering how many people are signing new leases this time of year.

In other news, I'm recording music now. I'm using my computer and a program called Audacity. It's a free mixing program available at SourceForge. I so far have recorded a pretty sweet funk song with bass, rhythm guitar, and solo guitar. The other things I've recorded are less sweet, but still not bad. It's surprisingly hard to stay in rhythm with yourself when playing along to a track that you recorded. Also, there's a quarter second delay from the recording to the playback... so if you're playing along with a track you've already recorded, you've gotta shift it back in time a fraction of a second to match up the beats. It's a fun and elucidating experience, musically.
