Why photograph people? I can't imagine anything more interesting than pictures of people. I think the emotional impact of images of people, especially their faces, is unparalleled by any other subject.  I am awed by some of the portraits here on DA.  Here are some of the works that I'm currently enamored with: :thumb338601293::thumb339634626::thumb339634272: :thumb331510593::thumb339650581::thumb337511627: I want these type of people to get more recognition. When I search portraits here in DA, i get 80% of what I would call porn. I don't mind porn. But I wish there were an easier way to separate porn from powerful emotional portraits.

I have been living and doing many things but not posting any photos for proof. Sorry about that. I have been shifting my focus from quantity to quality. Expect more food, animals, and people.

That's right.  I'm visiting Israel next week (Oct 17th through Oct 27th).  It's with Kesher Birthright Israel trips.  It's going to have a historical, religious, and political context.  I am a reform jew and this trip is being given by a reform organization.  Reform, while it has some implications of leniency in religious practices, I believe also imparts a certain abhorrence to war not found in some other, more conservative jewish sects.  I'm hoping that when I go over there, all Israelis and Palestinians will have some transformative thought change and stop fighting.  I don't expect that though.  I was thinking about the situation over ther
